The Mod Squad… Mod 27 brings flavors of “Who’s Line…” to Tickled Pink

Mod 27 has been a staple of South Florida improvisation since 2002, featuring powerful improv theater in the form of “Who’s Line is it Anyway” style games and short comedic play. The local media describes the group as an “Improv sensation!”

Mod’s comedy explores ideas and scenes which are intellectual, funny, and delightfully entertaining. Not to be missed, this troupe has also represented Florida at several national comedy festivals including The Del Close Marathon in New York and the Chicago Improv Festival. Their performances have also won them awards in South Florida and Phoenix.

Mod 27’s cast for Tickled Pink: A Night of Comedy will include the following:

Krys Parker 
A South Florida native has worked in the area professionally as an actress for the last 14 years. Over the past three years she has discovered improv and LOVES it! Now directing Cheese & Crackers, a short form/sketch group, within Mod27 productions she’s excited for the upcoming monthly shows in Palm Beach County and hopes to grow the improv audience.

 Jack James 
A 4th generation Floridian (once removed) originally from the Catskills cut his performing teeth doing his one man show “THAT’S ALL! A Tribute to Bobby Darin” at some of the ‘Borscht Belt’s’ finest resorts. Since then he has studied at Second City and performed in various plays and musicals across this great land. He would like to remind everyone that the llama is indeed a quadruped.

 

Zack Myers
Has been performing improvisation for the last five years. A jack of all traits, Zack is proud to have also worked with several South Florida improv troupes including Palm Beach State College’s A.I.T., the Parking Lot All-stars and Cheese and Crackers.

 

 

We’re can’t wait for Mod 27′s performance on the 19th for Tickled Pink, as well as at their show on Friday, November 12 in Lake Worth!

Hey Hey, They’re the Monkeys!

Today’s Blog Post is about another of our wonderful Tickled Pink comedy teams… Pink Partner 3 Wise Monkeys Comedy. The 3 Wise Monkeys are a team of three stand-up comedians and are known to monkey around such South Florida comedy mainstays as National Lampoon’s Underground Comedy Club and Hard Rock Improv!

David Daugherty (pictured right) has been living in South Florida for more than ten years and is a recent graduate of the Fort Lauderdale Improv’s “Stand Up 101″ class. Having performed in many elementary school plays and often referred to as a ‘class clown,’ it was only natural for him to begin doing stand-up comedy. He’s spent the summer performing at various comedy hot spots, like the Improv, National Lampoon Underground, Just The Funny and the Boca Muse.

Cindy Banks (in the middle…duh) is a native Floridian, University of Florida graduate and full time mom.  Figuring stand up comedy would be cheaper than therapy (retail or mental), she took to the stage and hasn’t looked back.  With a background in reporting, selling gold handled cookware on the Home Shopping Network and countless infomercials, she figured she had enough material personally and professionally to at least get a good 5 minutes of comedy… She travels with the 3 Wise Monkeys Comedy stand up team making people laugh or scratch their heads…

Perry Jacob (pictured left) is a Brooklyn born – south Florida transplant, graduated from the University of Central Florida.  He can be seen performing stand up comedy throughout Broward, Dade and the Palm Beach area.  He has recently moved back to South Florida after having a 4 – year déjà vu in LAS VEGAS!  He travels with a TRI-fecta stand up team, 3 WISE MONKEYS COMEDY.  His recent credits include: “being cut from Get Him to the Greek!”

Introducing… “Li’l Bean”

Thanks to the very talented Tony Catania, we now have a mascot for Tickled Pink!

Li’l Bean, as we affectionately call him, (not to be confused with Mr. Bean) is the embodiment of what it feels like to be “Tickled Pink!” Li’l Bean’s posters and flyers will be appearing all around South Florida. If you ask very nicely, we might even get you his autograph.

Pink Partner Feature – UCC (Underground Comedy Club)

As we prepare for the BIG NIGHT, we will be featuring our Pink Partners (no, not Pink Panthers, but equally cool).

First up is two-man improv team UCC – the Underground Comedy Club comprised of Sam DeLima and Ed Zeltner.

UCC's Sam DeLima

Sam DeLima is a native of Florida and has performed with many of the improv troupes in South Florida.  He graduated from Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, where he was first introduced to improv and the two have been inseparable ever since.  Sam briefly moved to New York City to pursue improv and performed there. He decided to return to Broward to contribute to the South Florida improv community. We are very excited to have Sam bring his wit and talent to Tickled Pink!

UCC's Ed Zeltner

Ed Zeltner graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in theatre and a minor in English, but more importantlystudied improv in Chicago. He has performed with and directed improv groups around the country including Theatre Strike Force, ACII, UCC, STDS and directed Miami’s Just the Funny. He has appeared in many plays including The Passion of Dracula, Little Murders, and By the Bog of Cats for the Irish Repertory Theatre in Chicago. Ed is currently a teacher at the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre where he created and directs their house troupe Child’s Play.
